It’s cheery and bright and is quite a deviation from what I usually paint, but here it is as it stands at this moment. Not sure what is next…
What do you think so far? I’m contemplating overlaying a quote in the upper right clear area. Any input on that? Yea or nay?
Love it! All of your work is good, this one is my fave though. I think it would look great with or without a quote. 🙂 ~Jen~

How bout “Comment?” Good painting. I have a thing about crows — admiration.

I like that idea. Why not try it and see if you like how it turns out?

I’m afraid I’ve made myself crazy over this and have ended up shelving the painting for now. I wish I could get over this indecisiveness. I hope as I gain more experience painting I will become more confident and less neurotic. I have no idea when I lost the ability to just make a choice. It’s so ridiculous! I’m worse than a 12 year old girl. yikes.

I like the negative space. I focus on the birds. As a painting I wouldn’t put a quote in there but if you make a digital copy you could try different quotes and fonts and see what you think.

I think that’s the best idea. I’m too worried I’ll mess things up with substandard lettering. To be honest, my neurosis over this completely stalled me and sent me into a weeks long pattern of avoiding my studio : \ I’m just creeping back in there now…

I really love this! The quote idea is fantastic! Perhaps adding a little red will draw the eye to where you want it to go!

I was thinking of a reddish umber-ish colour for the lettering. Great minds think alike! Now if only I could get over my fear of lettering…

I agree with Jack. I love the idea of a quote, though for the life of me I can’t think of one that would work at the moment.

One that has been stuck in my head lately, but has nothing to do with the painting, is Ian Maclaren’s “Be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” I think the world would be a better place if we could all just absorb that a little bit.
I haven’t put anything on the canvas as I am worried about my lettering not measuring up. I kind of stalled on this painting but I’m sure I’ll come back to it when I am ready.

Beautiful! I just saw an internet meme with a picture of two crows that said “attempted murder.” hahahaha. (get it? I totally didn’t at first, but now I think it’s hilarious.)

Not sure how I missed this Tina but it looks fabulous! I wonder what you ended up doing? Quote or no quote?

We finally got around to seeing the comments about the HUGE spider
on our blog.We still get those spiders(guess they are fishing or wharf spiders)
as we live close to Lake Echo and the river that flows into it.
Shudders!!

Thanks Georgia and Julie 🙂 I recently had a large arachnid encounter at my house too but it definitely pales in comparison to yours!
